Amazing pictures...Jokulsarlon

We drove 800 km yesterday, all to reach the glacial lagoon. It was worth every km. Spectacularly beautiful, the Iceland we were looking for. Also saw two waterfalls and lots of the coastal countryside.

  1. These shots are beautiful! What exactly is that rock formation on the hill? A cave? It looks nice and cozy in there...
And at the glaciers and waterfalls was it cold?

  2. There are houses built into the hillsides all over Iceland. And they also roof the houses with turf. It was hard to capture with my little camera. It was colder where the waterfall was than where the glacial lagoon was, just because the weather yesterday was drizzly and windy. By hte time we got to the lagoon, the weather had cleared somewhat. It was almost midnight when we got ´home´but still light as day...
