The last school story of the year

We (second grade) have been working on a play called We Come From Everywhere about all the different nationalities in America. Mary's class' song is called I Am a Melting Pot and she told the kids to bring in something from their heritage for their costume. So Friday Robin finally comes to her and says that she now knows what her heritage is: She's half Virgin (since its a heritage I guess it should be capitalized) and so she should wear brown. Mary, to her credit, just nodded her head and then ran to the phone to call me in the computer lab. Yesterday, Robin told Mary that she had done research and Virgins like to play soccer and so that is why she is wearing her purple soccer uniform for the play. Then...Daniel comes up to Mary and says, How can someone be only half virgin? And Mary is thinking, oh, no...and then he continues, Isn't a virgin someone who doesn't kiss anyone? Whew...It turns out Robin is half Belgian. Virgin...Belgian...

School is out on Friday. Tomorrow we walk to the park, Thursday we clean the room and Friday we say goodbye.
