Jumping frog of Calaveras county

One more from last week's trip.

There are these frog statues all over Calaveras County. For those of you who haven't read Mark Twain, they are a reference to his amusing story, The Jumping Frog of Calaveras County. This is the only one I took a picture of, not because it was the best one, it is just the one I photographed.

And I forgot to mention that I ate a lobster cheesecake for lunch at the Columbia Hotel. It is hard to describe, and I wish I had photographed it...it was very rich, tarragon and red pepper sauce with a thick layer of lobster. Yum.

  1. I've heard about these savory cheesecakes... I'm intrigued. I'm going to have to find one soon.
