Independence has attacked!

Well, Sadie was absent on Tuesday and so yesterday as I am taking roll I ask, as I must for verification purposes, "Why were you absent?"   

Sadie, flinging her hair over her shoulders and rolling her eyes, "Well, my mom says I was having independence attacks, I don't even know what those are!"

And I say that anyone who has lived with a two-year old screaming that he can put his shoes on himself, or a 16 year old who wants to drive a car full of friends to Magic Mountain, has witnessed independence attacks.  Since Sadie is neither 2 nor 16, I suspect that her stomach ache was being blamed on...indigestion...
